Photogrammetry

Photogrammetry is the practice of determining the geometric properties of objects, such as vehicles, from photographic images. Often in accident reconstruction there is limited data available and photogrammetry is an important tool for measuring objects in photograph from the original accident scene.

The American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing defines photogrammetry:

Photogrammetry is the art, science, and technology of obtaining reliable information about physical objects and the environment, through processes of recording, measuring, and interpreting images and patterns of electromagnetic radiant energy and other phenomena.

Armstrong consultants are trained in photogrammetry and other photogrammetric methods, such as remote sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS).
