Mr. Magby is an accomplished, seasoned commercial motor vehicle (CMV) safety professional with a solid background in all aspects of commercial truck/bus safety and compliance. As a retired Senior Executive Service (SES) appointee after an exemplary 31 year career with the United States Department of Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Mr. Magby has consulted with transportation industry executives, state/federal law enforcement agencies, and the general public.

Mr. Magby is currently the lead instructor at the United States Department of Transportation Safety Institute, teaching courses on Federal Motor Carrier Safety Inspections, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Compliance, and Hours of Service. Mr. Magby’s knowledge and experience areas include CMV Safety Inspection and Maintenance Procedures, Federal and State Motor Carrier Compliance Reviews, FMCSA Civil and Criminal Enforcement Proceedings, Handicapped Driver Waiver Program, Drivers Hours of Service, CMV Cargo Securement, Commercial Drivers License (CDL), and Drug and Alcohol Testing.
